Statement of Commitment

The Statement of Commitment to South Australian foster and kinship carers is developed by the Department for Child Protection, in consultation with Connecting Foster and Kinship Carers SA (CFKC) and Child and Family Focus SA (CAFFSA). It signed by the Minister and the CEOs of the Department for Child Protection, CFKC and CAFFSA.

The Statement of Commitment recognises that we must work in partnership and value carers as an essential, respected and equal part of the care team for children and young people.

It is designed to empower carers in their roles, establish our commitments to best practice and communicate roles and responsibilities. It also assists in being clear around accountability in working with carers.
