Are you a Foster or Kinship Carer looking to enhance your skills and be acknowledged for the life experiences you have developed from your caring role?

In collaboration with Bradford Institute of Advanced Education, we are pleased to announce their next intake of students, this time offering a Certificate IV in Community Services.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from a supportive facilitator who has lived experience of being a carer. Read our interview with carer and graduate Verity Jaensch, South Australia’s first Bradford Institute of Advanced Education tutor for the family-based carer community.

Course Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the course and receive subsidised training participants need to live or work in South Australia and are required:

• to be at least 16 years and over and not enrolled at school
• to be a Member of CFKC
• have at least 6 months experience as a Foster or Kinship Carer
• be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or:
  • are a permanent Australian resident, or
  • hold a state sponsored visa on a pathway to permanent residency (see Eligible visa types)
