Max Reid

Adviser

Max joined our team in July 2026 as an Adviser.

Max is a social worker dedicated to improving the lives of young people with experience of the child protection system. Drawing on experience in both frontline practice and social policy, he brings a unique perspective to the challenges facing young people and carers.

Max has worked as a therapeutic case manager in residential care, supporting young people aged 18–25 who have experienced adversity and trauma. He has also worked in children’s health services and in programs for men who use violence in their relationships.

Before qualifying as a social worker, Max worked in social policy, contributing to advice provided to state, territory, and international governments on a range of issues, including child protection, family violence, and health.

Passionate about bridging the gap between practice and policy, Max is committed to ensuring the voices of young people and carers are heard in decision-making processes. He has a particular interest in communicating the realities and complexities of systems that respond to attachment trauma and other forms of developmental adversity.

Max holds Bachelor degrees in Laws (Honours) and Social Science, and a Master of Social Work
